The National Art Gallery is a cultural landmark building which has recently undergone a major renovation. It covers a total floor area of 60,000 m² houses the largest collection of modern art in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The gallery now has a new smoke control system, which Colt has supplied.
Contracting company Kurihara Kogyo has a long-standing relationship with Colt and awarded the contract to Colt for its ability to understand the consultant’s preferences, for getting involved with the design work and for good previous experience of Colt’s competence in project management.
The smoke control system design includes smoke curtains, smoke dampers, EuroCO ventilators and acoustic smoke ventilators.
The new art gallery showcases Singapore’s heritage and provides a regional and cultural framework with a strong Southeast Asia focus.
